Living in Japan, I have had numerous packages of wolfberries from all over Asia. They sell on shelves like a bag of dried raisins and are easy to find in every store. After sampling dozens of them, and finding them satisfying, but yet, not very tasty (according to a friend, they taste like the inside of a hamster cage...I am inclined to agree,) I started to research why.
